Mt Cook Wedding
Wow what a day. Sarah and Alex eloped from Australia to get married at Mt Cook. The wedding package and arrangements were all done by resident Wedding Planner Amber Cleverley from the Hermitage Hotel Aoraki Mt Cook. We all went through the night before because of the threat of the roads being closed. When we finally arrived at the Hermitage there was snow everywhere! The day of the wedding though was absolutely beautiful. After Sarah and Alex got ready at the Hermitage we traveled out to Glenntanner airport for a flight to Jollies Valley. Because our lovely young couple wanted video as well as photos, Jan Lisa and I loaded up all the gear for the job and away we went with the Helicopter Line Mt Cook. The ceremony was held with Dennis officiating in the valley and after photos, we headed down below the snow line for more photos. When we returned we took some shots on the side of Lake Pukaki then it was back to the hotel to sit in front of the fire and warm up. Thanks to Amber and the team from the Heritage it was a brilliant well planned day. Jan Lisa and I would like to pass on very special thanks to Sarah and Alex for a very memorable day. The girls cant wait to start processing all the images.

Another Wanaka Wedding
Had a great day with Petra & Aaron . Its was as cold as it gets with snow on all the mountains, but it was a lovely wedding. Ralph Fagan was the celebrant and the wedding was held at the Wanaka Cottages. They had family and friends there and although it was a small wedding it was a great day. We took photos at the Ceremony, Waterfall Creek and Wanaka Station Park. Tomorrow we have the first of our Weddings at The Hermitage Aoraki Mount Cook. We are doing photos and video and the ceremony (weather permitting) is being held in the mountains. So three of us are going through. Interesting to note that The Hermitage has been one of the top spots in the World to have a wedding ceremony. Look at their web site and you can see why!

Wanaka weddings
Back to work and a busy week for us. We have commercial shoots for both McGregors Bakery and the opening of the Aspiring Lifestyle retirement village. Jeremy is continuing his work with Jenny at Fine Wools Wanaka with more design work and he is also starting work on Upper Clutha Transports web site. Tuesday we have a small wedding in Wanaka. We haven't met the Bride and Groom yet but are doing so on Tuesday Morning. Thursday we are away to the first of many weddings at the Hermitage Aoraki at Mt Cook.
New Cameras
At this time of year we are always looking at replacements for some of our cameras. Because of the massive amount of work they get each year we have a policy of upgrading to make sure that we always have the latest technology and the best equipment for the job at hand. We have always chosen Nikon lens and camera bodies. We believe Nikon have always made the best Lenses in the world, the detail with the new 2.8 Lenses is amazing. Camera wise, we have on order a new Nikon D3x, a 24 million pixel monster and a D700. Now that we have Lisa and Jeremy on board we are needing the extra equipment to get our work done. We have more weddings this year by far than in previous years so we are going to need all the extra equipment.
Back from holiday
Jan and I have had ten days off. Our wedding season starts next week and we decided to take our break now before things get under way again. We also needed to get a lot of ocean and coastal shots for a new client setting up a restaurant and this seemed the ideal time to do that. We have always loved the West Coast and although he weather was terrible the coast always looks at its best and freshest during and after rain falls.

Queenstown Gardens Wedding
Jacinta and Mark came out from Australia to be married in the Queenstown Gardens because they longed to have their Wedding photos taken in the snow and the streets of Arrowtown. We spent the morning with the girls while they had their hair and makeup done with the team from Collective in the Queenstown Mall. Later on we caught up with Mark and his family before we headed to the ceremony in the Queenstown Gardens. After the ceremony we spent time taking photos of their family and friends before we headed off to the Queenstown Airport to meet up with the crew from Heliworks for our flight to the top of the Remarkable mountain range. Next destination was the main street of Arrowtown and then on to the Skyline Restaurant for the Reception.
